Next, quite interesting continuations followed, but this film is remembered among others. A black and white picture (this is not a joke about the race), which caused great excitement. You can continue indefinitely. What distinguishes it from everything else? Plot? Heroes? Let's try to understand.

Of course, the most important factor is originality. For 1968, it was a breakthrough of horror films. The picture was doomed to success. It's much later to shoot something like that. Romero has created a child, for many films, books and games that we know now. Yes, there is an earlier film, the White Zombie of 1932, but there everything was a bit different.

The plot part, became the basis for all films about zombies. When, the main characters, survive the invasion of the dead in a house, shop, police station or anywhere else. Search for supplies, weapons, medicines, simple needs for survival. All this is now customary to observe.

Speaking of the actors, I remember only Ben, the main character. The only one who understands what to do, who wants to break out of this accursed house. Here are just chances, it is not enough.

Tom Savini, much later will remove the remake of 1990. For me, the film turned out weaker, the plot differs from the original considerably, down to the ending. In principle, this is not a bad, original, fresh look at the original. But the impression is still not the same.

Returning to Romero, I want to say thank you to him, and enough already to shoot. All the subsequent pictures, turned out much weaker. Nevertheless, it is worth a look. After all, it all started. Night of the Living Dead, an immortal classic that will never become obsolete.
