In 1968, George Romero filmed "Night of the Living Dead" - a picture that immortalized the name of the director and opened a new subgenre of horror films - "zombie horror," and to this day commercially successful.
Modern cinema about people, from the land of the insurgents, has already moved very far. Viewing classics allows you to understand this clearly enough. Today, the dead can run, make heartbreaking screams, mutate to such an extent that a person can no longer see. How rich fantasy is, pictures are so interesting.
The original picture does not shine with action. The fact that we have already seen enough films with different ways of fighting the walking undead is reflected here. More than once the thoughts of the genre "Let's hack him already and run, They are slow", once even aloud. Yes, the film, in fact, is not about the struggle of humanity with the undead. Here, more emphasis is placed on human behavior in an extreme situation. A few people are locked in the house, not only that without communication, so the outside of the devil knows who is trying to break into the house. Here nerves and begin to play pranks. Rare music then disappears, creating a sense of vacuum and claustrophobia in the house, it abruptly appears, forcing not to flinch, but to worry.
Another feature is the atmosphere of realism. Even in spite of all these frills with cosmic radiation, everything looks quite ordinary. It would be like people go to the sweep of territories from the "zombies" as if they had been prepared for this all their lives.
Actually there is nothing to say about the actors. Everything is very theatrical. Extras - zombies are very funny, try to play, it is noticeable and commendable, but fun. Of course, there is a blonde who expresses her fear through some trance, which is not for the whole film of explanatory explanation.
To date, the film of George Romero is already very outdated, because the film industry can offer much more terrible and fascinating zombie horror. But this picture can not be forgotten. Everyone who is familiar with films about walking dead should watch this tape. The origins do not sink into oblivion.
