A ray of light in the silent void
After seeing a new picture of one of my most beloved directors, I realized that I had nothing to worry about, that I didn’t like it, even though it didn’t come as a revelation, but it doesn’t take away that Jim Jarmusch once again managed to make an amazing film.
The visual beauty of the film lies in carefully framed frames, as well as a practically static camera, which is an invariable attribute of almost all motion pictures filmed by this director.
Impressions of Eve, played by Tilda Swinton, fluctuate in the plane limited at first only by her wisdom and calmness, but as you familiarize yourself with the character, dangerous and villainous desires flash with lights, setting a certain tone to the character of this character, and some responses of her many-sided perception of the world develop as plot advancement.
Tom Hiddleston perfectly managed to convey the centuries-old melancholy of his hero Adam, who is in love with music, and into her work, which is hidden in his house from fans and the rest of the world.
The unhurried pace of the narrative of the picture is almost absent in the dynamics and in the long dialogues, many of which contain philosophical speculations about the life of people and their relationship to their home planet and to each other.
The soundtrack is largely composed by the music written by Adam himself, in his creation he uses many tricks to achieve the sound with electric guitars, superimposed on each other and creating a dense, disturbing sound, which is very well combined with the general restless atmosphere of the film.
As a result, I can say that I liked the film very much, and having fully enjoyed the beautiful deep characters, wonderful music, beautiful actors, rich and atmospheric picture, I cannot find flaws in it, although I can understand those who did not like the film, because for the perception of such works, you must have at least good taste and be at least intellectually developed.
