Beauty requires sacrifice
Oh, how I love Arthur Golding's book. But films on books often do not reach the primary sources, but this is not the case at all. The film “Memoirs of a Geisha I liked even more. Perhaps because the visual perception is of great importance here, and the shot is really very beautiful. Japanese dance, kimono, cherry blossoms .. already for this you can put ten points.
I understand that in any film from a historical point of view there will be inaccuracies, and in this regard I will not get to the bottom of the directors, there are no historical characters here. As a melodrama, this film more than satisfied me.
The main character is incredibly beautiful, beautiful both externally and internally. She looked like a Japanese angel. And her dance was just the peak of the whole movie. Bravo, Zhang Ziyi. And yes, the little actress was also impressed.
Of course, the main bitch of the film, Hatsumomo, is good, this hatred of the whole world for the fact that she cannot openly love .. it seems to me that this made her so. Gong Li very goes this role.
I imagined the younger Mamekha, but it didn’t stop me, she was such a “mother” for Sayuri.
Pumpkin fully revealed precisely in the last part of the film, before I did not even notice it.
And the executor of the role of chairman, Ken Watanabe, just like in the book, the ideal of a man, for the attention of which you can move mountains, is just great.
Separate pleasure this soundtrack, still does not go out of my head.
.
What is this movie about? The fact that any art, any aesthetic beauty requires tremendous efforts and sacrifices ... we often want to be in the place of people involved in the beautiful ... but we do not know what kind of mental and physical sufferings this is given to them ...
And also that for the sake of love you can move mountains ...
